FORMER Scarborough Cock of the North Winner, Lisburn’s Michael Pearson, has been forced to sit out this weekend’s Steve Henshaw Gold Cup meeting at the North Yorkshire meeting, after an injury picked up in a minor spill at last months Ulster Grand Prix, has failed to heal sufficiently, to allow Pearson to make the annual Oliver’s Mount trip. Michael Pearson said, “The elbow is taking longer to heal than we first thought. In fact, the elbow is not really the problem, its just that I cannot grip very well with my right hand, obviously due to the muscle’s and ligaments healing, which would make braking a big issue for me if we went to Scarborough.
