Councillor O’Neill said”“It was a great day weather wise and there was an excellent turnout at the Fair. The Fair Day has been a long-standing tradition in Castlewellan and I am pleased that this tradition is continuing. “One point I was concerned about was the number of hot food vehicles that were in Castlewellan on the Fair Day. There were upwards of 14. I have raised this issue with the Council calling on them to be more selective when allocating bays to the traders. “I was also alarmed to hear of reported counterfeit and shoddy goods stalls… I wouldn’t want such activity to take away from the great occasion and the good reputation of the Fair Day. People should be able to come to the Fair dependent on, and be able to trust in, the quality of goods on offer. I have raised both of these issues with Down District Council.“]]>
