The Newcastle Summer Season steps up a gear with two musical extravaganzas taking place over the weekend.
On Friday 15 July, don’t miss the incredible ‘James Huish and his band’ as they swing the night away, with hits from Michael Buble and more. James has been taking the Northern Ireland theatre scene by storm over the last few years and with his fabulous nine piece band, they are definitely ‘The Band’ of the moment. James’s on-stage charisma is electric and coupled with his fantastic vocal ability, this is show not to be missed.
The producers of ‘Bjorn Identity Abba Tribute’ bring you Northern Ireland’s only dedicated Motown and Soul Show, ‘The Iconettes’ taking place on Saturday 16 July.
‘The Iconettes’ pays tribute to the most famous girl groups and solo artists of the 60’s and 70’s inlcuding ‘The Three Degrees’, ‘The Supremes’, T’he Ronettes, ‘Martha’ and The Vandellas’, ‘Aretha Franklin’, ‘Tina Turner’ and ‘Diana Ross’.
These artists created the template for The Iconettes and their live band’s glamour, style and musical influences. This stunningly entertaining show is a crowd pleasing, fun and tightly choreographed homage to the iconic hits from a golden era. They can manage to create an intimacy with their audiences that most acts rarely achieve. Dancing shoes are definitely required.
Shows start at 8pm(bar available from 7pm) at the Newcastle Community Cinema with tickets priced at £15 / £12 concession.
