Artist Dermot McNevin is putting the finishing touches to his art exhibition in the Down Arts Centre opening later this week.
The Dublin artist has showed his work all over Ireland north and south and said he really enjoyed doing exhibitions. He said: “I have just completed one near Cork and have one running in Mayo at the moment. I don’t sell a lot of commissions. I just paint from inspiration and sell what I can from my exhibitions. My work is basically oil painting with mixed media. This exhibition will consist of twelve works altogether. Most of them are large paintings but there are a few smaller intimate ones.
“My work is a mixture of oil painting with words and print used in an abstract manner, It looks quite dynamic. My personal philosophy is focussed on buddhism and values such as transience, impermanence and change are reflected in the themes of the paintings.
“The exhibition runs until the 24 April, and anyone can wander in and enjoy it FREE in the Down Arts Centre in Downpatrick,” said Dermot.
