M.B. McGrady Chartered Accountants have raised £2000 for the Cancer Fund For Children.
One of the largest and most-respected independent chartered accountancy practices in Northern Ireland, which has offices in Downpatrick, Newtownards and Belfast, chose the local charity as its official charity partner in 2016, and the company has been embarking upon a series of fundraising initiatives across all three offices.
Intent on raising a significant sum for this worthwhile charity, the donation has stemmed from a number of events, including a private cinema screening event and a community coffee money, raising essential funds for Cancer Fund For Children, a charity supporting children with terminal illness.
Commenting on the achievement, Conaill McGrady, Director at M.B. McGrady & Co said: “We are thrilled to be able to contribute in this way to Cancer Fund For Children, and to play our role in helping families from across Northern Ireland to avail of the excellent services that the Cancer Fund for Children provides.
“M.B. McGrady’s Charity of Choice was chosen by our staff, and I’m extremely proud of our three offices for coming together and driving our charity initiative forward. Our fundraising team has really embraced the challenge, arranging various events and activities over the past six months that we’ve all taken part in and I would like to thank the McGrady team, along with our clients, family and friends, for their support with our fundraising efforts.”
As a local company, M.B. McGrady will continue their fundraising efforts throughout 2017 in the hope of raising more funds for the local charity. Staff from across McGrady’s three offices hope to take part in personal challenge events such as The Slieve Donald Climb and the Bog Run later in the year, whilst the firm is looking forward to holding more fundraising activities, such as bake sales, raffles and bucket collections at a range of events.
The Cancer Fund for Children is the leading local charity that provides practical, emotional and financial support to children and young people affected by cancer and their families. The local charity relies heavily on donations from the public and business communities in Northern Ireland to provide a range of vital services.
The money donated from M.B McGrady and Co will help go towards funding therapeutic short breaks to families at Daisy Lodge in Newcastle Co. Down.
