Motorcycle crash claims man’s life on Killyleagh Road from Downpatrick
A man in his 50s has sadly died following a collision on the Killyleagh Road to Downpatrick.
The man was the rider of a motorcycle which collided with a car at around 4pm on Sunday 28 July.
Inspector Cherith Adair from the Collision Investigation Unit said “We are appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward.
“We are particularly keen to hear from two other motorcyclists travelling along the same road around the time of the collision.
“Please call 101, quoting reference 1161 28/07/24.”

McGrath offers condolences following crash death
SDLP South Down MLA Colin McGrath has offered his condolences to the family and friends of a man killed in a crash in the area.
The man in his 50s died following a crash on the Killyleagh Road in Downpatrick on Sunday afternoon.
South Down MLA Mr McGrath said: “My thoughts and prayers are with the family of the man killed in yesterday’s crash.
“It is always difficult to lose a loved one, particularly in such sudden circumstances. My heart goes out to them at this difficult time.
“I would urge any witnesses to the crash to come forward and help police with their enquiries.”
