A local Newry Mourne and Down District Councillor has succeeded in being appointed as a non-executive member to the board of the NI Fire and Rescue Service
[caption id="attachment_48557" align="alignleft" width="390"] Councillor Cadogan Enright has been appointed as a non-executive member of the board of the NI Fire and Rescue Service.[/caption]Health Minister Simon Hamilton today announced the appointment of a Non-Executive Chair and three District Council Members for the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service. Ms Carmel McKinney has been appointed as a Non-Executive Chair, for a four year term from 1 July 2015 to 30 June 2019, and Councillor Cadogan Enright has been appointed as a District Councillor for a four year term from 1 September 2015 to 31 August 2019.
Cllr Cadogan Enright lives in Downpatrick. He is currently a District Councillor on the new Newry, Mourne and Down super council. He is also involved in voluntary work through the Downpatrick and County Down Railway and Strangford Lough and Lecale Partnership. Mr. Enright holds no other public appointments.
The Chair appointment carries a time commitment of 2.5 – 3 days per week and attracts an annual remuneration of £25,701 whilst the District Councillor appointments carry a time commitment of three days per month and attract an annual remuneration of £5,962.
The appointments were made in accordance with the Code of Practice issued by the Commissioner for Public Appointments for Northern Ireland. A selection panel, which included an Independent Assessor, as required under the Commissioner’s Code, considered the suitability of all candidates.
