THE DOWN County Museum’s series of PEACE III funded lunchtime lectures on the period from 1912 to 1922 continues with a fascinating insight into the lives of some of the women who were involved in events during this turbulent time.
On Tuesday 2 October, Clive Scoular will give a talk on ‘Prominent women of the time‘ where he will examine the lives of among others, of Constance Markiewicz and Maud Gonne.
During this period of upheaval and conflict dominated by male politicians and military figures it is easy to overlook the contribution to political change made by women who were involved in both the unionist and nationalist parties.
This talk will provide information on how women were central to the debates of the period. The talk takes place at Down County Museum on Tuesday 2 October at 1pm.
Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.
