Listen to the Graham McClements podcast on Down About Down by Chris Scott
“Laugh now. Cry Later” might be great advice! Graham McClements, local author and radio broadcaster, is on the Down about Down podcast in conversation with Chris Scott.
Graham has recently published his third book, titled “Laugh Now. Cry Later.” Affectionately known as “Big G”, he speaks in depth to Chris about his autobiographical musings.
Chris said: “We learn about how ITV’s long running TV series, Crossroads, which led to Graham becoming a chef at the age of 14.
“He later became the youngest head chef in Northern Ireland. He talks briefly about his time working at the Slieve Donard Hotel, Newcastle and his early days at Ardmeen Green, Downpatrick.
“Graham also touches on his previous publications, his two recipe books, and his radio broadcasting career. And he also talks about his earliest childhood memories of Christmas.
“The book, with a foreword by John D. Toner MBE, previously General Manager of the Slieve Donard Hotel, is now on sale and available at Amazon Books UK.
“The synopsis on the book’s cover should give the potential reader a flavour of this former chef’s handiwork!
“With his marriage of 25 years ended, Irishman Graham visits family in Wales, resulting in new business opportunities, new friends and – eventually – new romantic interest.
“It certainly seems that more than food had been cooking in this chef’s kitchen! Inevitably, the simmering pot explodes into a full-fledged love affair. All goes smoothly for a time, but them a single phone call threatens to change everything…”
Graham’s latest book is an autobiographical love story: Laugh Now, Cry Later: A True Love Story available on Amazon.co.uk (McClements, Graham: 9781914288296: Books).
