There was a festival atmosphere in the town and the many stalls that packed into Hans Sloane Square kept all the visitors busy and entertained.
Luke Torris from Annagasan Vikings said, “I am delighted to be invited to be at the front of the parade today. It is a great honour. This is a terrific festival and it is good to see people embracing this part of their heritage. Children just love all the dressing up and excitement. But behind it all there is a lot of history and culture to learn about our past and festivals such as this create the interest.”

Tony Davies of the Killyleagh Social Partnership who organised the event in conjunction with the Magnus Vikings Association said, “This festival has gone off very well. The weather has been great and a good crowd turned up. Everyone is enjoying themselves. It is an excellent community event to run each year and gets so many people involved. It is good to see too Vikings from as far away as the Isle of Man and Co Louth.“
