THE Christmas festivities come to life tonight in Killyleagh.
The fun commences at 6pm (Tuesday 4 December) when Santa arrives at the Castle on a horse drawn carriage to open his Grotto (visits £2 per child).
Carriage rides are also available at £2 for each child and adult. Admission is by ticket only both of which will be on sale at a stall in front of Killyleagh Library.
At 6.15pm the English for Pleasure group will host a Christmas Poetry/Prose session in the Library followed by children’s art/craft sessions and a Folk fundraising Book Sale.
Children from our local primary schools will be performing a musical extravaganza and then joining us for our Community Christmas Carols.
This year’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will be performed by Rowallene Councillor Marie McCarthy with special thanks once again to Marty Polland for his generous donation of our beautiful tree.
MLA Simon Hamilton will be judging the Best Mince Pie Competition which together with the Best Sausage Competition will be held in the Masonic Hall.
Crafter’s will be selling their wares in the Dufferin Coaching Inn Banqueting Hall and local shops will also be joining in the festivities.
