LONDON… Paris… Milan… Belfast… if you thought Northern Ireland was behind in the style stakes, think again. The Űber Cool of the Province recently got together for their annual fashionista-fest, revealing just who are the style setters of 2011. The annual Magners Light Style Awards tell us not just who the leading lights in looks are, but also where those of us with aspirations should be going to strut our stylish stuff! The awards identify the pubs, clubs, restaurants, shops and salons which set the pace. Kilkeel woman, Kristin Aiken, who works for Autoline Insurance Group in Newry walked off with the title of Most Stylish Businesswoman, at this year’s Magners Light Style Awards. Kristin Aiken, Marketing Manager Autoline Insurance Group said, “I was absolutely delighted to be named ‘Magners Light Most Stylish Business Person’. I would like to thank all of those who voted for me especially the team here at Autoline who have been very supportive.” [caption id="attachment_20237" align="alignleft" width="288" caption="Kirstin Aitken from Kilkeel was the winner of the Magners LIght Style Awards in the Most Stylish Businesswoman category. "][/caption] There are twelve Awards in all, but arguably the most coveted are those for Most Stylish Man and Most Stylish Woman. This year the plaudit for Most Stylish Female goes to Carrickfergus woman Jeané Simpson … while the award for Most Stylish Male is carried off by BBC’s quirky presenter Alan Simpson (and, no, the two aren’t related). As the winners of the 2011 Magners Light Style Awards were revealed at Belfast’s Café Vaudeville (10th February), James Simpson, Magners Marketing Manager, said, “The job of choosing the top looks and venues from right across Northern Ireland just gets tougher every year and I think that reflects the vitality of the social scene here. Our Judging Panel and readers of the Ulster Tatler have been deliberating for several months now to come up with our twelve winners and I think they have certainly sparked some lively debate along the way!” James thanked all those who voted online and the judges who spent many hours scrutinizing and debating their way through the selection process. Serving alongside James on the judging panel were Tracey Hall, Director of Style Academy Model Agency; Pete Snodden, DJ; Gemma Garrett, Model & Media Personality; Award-Winning Presseye.com Photographer, Darren Kidd; and Nuala Meenehan, Ulster Tatler’s Social Correspondent. He added, ”We’re delighted to acknowledge the most iconically stylish people and places with the Magners Light Style Awards. Magners Light is firmly established as Northern Ireland’s favourite low calorie cider. With only 92 calories per bottle yet the same 4.5% alcohol content as Magners Original, it is a perfect choice for the style and figure-conscious – male or female.
