Kennedy announces £85,000 road improvements on the B2 Annacloy Road, Annacloy.
Transport Minister Danny Kennedy has announced that work on a resurfacing scheme on the B2 Annalcoy Road, Annacloy is due to start on Monday 30 March 2015.
The scheme will involve the resurfacing of a 760 metre stretch of the B2 Annacloy Road, Annacloy, between the U0145 Cargagh Road junction and the A7 Belfast Road junction.
Minister Kennedy said: “This £85,000 scheme represents a significant investment in the roads infrastructure on the Ballynahinch to Downpatrick route.
“Once work is complete, road users will quickly realise the long term benefits from the new road surface along the stretch.”
To facilitate the resurfacing the road will be closed from Monday 30 March to Wednesday 1 April 2015 from 9:15 am to 4.30 pm. Traffic will be diverted via the: B7 Crossgar Road, Ballynahinch, A7 Belfast Road Downpatrick, A25 Ballydugan Road Downpatrick and the A24 Newcastle Road, Seaforde.
TransportNI aims to keep disruptions to a minimum, however, delays should be expected and drivers are asked to be patient and allow additional time when planning journeys in the area whilst the road improvements are being carried out.
With all work of this nature extreme weather can impact on the completion date. TransportNI will advise the public of any unexpected change to the schedule.
