Saintfield Library is holding a free ‘Festive Food’ nutrition workshop on Thursday 18 December at 11–1:00pm.
The workshop will be led by Jane McClenaghan from Vital Nutrition giving excellent advice and worthwhile tips on how to survive the holidays amidst the mince pies, selection boxes and brandy butter! Discover more about Santa’s super foods and the health benefits of Christmas food favourites; how to host a healthy Christmas meal and which foods and herbs help with liver support.
This workshop is one of many planned as part of Health in Mind, a partnership project which offers a wide range of positive mental health and well-being resources and services in libraries and other community venues. Libraries NI is the lead partner, working along with Action Mental Health, Aware Defeat Depression, CAUSE and MindWise.
Darren Gowdy, Project Manager of Health in Mind said: “This is a great opportunity for people in the Saintfield area to find out more about making healthy choices and positive changes to their diet and lifestyle. The workshop will be presented in an informal setting, in a fun and interactive way and packed full of simple and practical ideas to help people make immediate positive changes for the good of their health.”
The Health in Mind Partnership is funded under the Big Lottery Fund’s Live and Learn programme to work together to reduce the stigma attached to mental illness by improving the understanding of mental health in the wider community and by providing opportunities to join in activities based on the themes of Information, Learning and Reading.
Join Jane and make this your healthiest Christmas ever. The workshop is free and is available to anyone who is interested in learning more about healthy eating.
