Newry Mourne and Down District Council rolls out new Business Resilience Programme.
Businesses located in the Newry Mourne and Down District Council area are being invited to register for a new Business Resilience Programme as part of the NMD Business Growth Programme, which is open to any SME located in the Council area.
The project is part funded by Invest Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund under the Investment for Growth & Jobs Northern Ireland (2014 -2020) programme.
The ongoing Covid-19 crisis is having a serious impact on businesses worldwide, and local companies are not exempt from the pandemic. No firm can carry on a ‘business as usual’ approach and the Business Resilience Programme can help guide business owners through the current crisis.
The Business Resilience Programme, which is free to attend, will involve:
- A specific remote business diagnostic exercise to assess the current positioning of the business as a result of the Covid 19 situation;
- 4 remote workshops – Building personal resilience in tough times; leading others in crisis situations; looking after your mental health; managing time and managing projects.
- 2 days of remote mentoring to assist businesses to apply the key learning points to their own business.
Newry Mourne and Down District Council Chairperson, Cllr Charlie Casey, said the Council is fully aware of the impact of the Covid-19 crisis on the local economy, and of the need to support businesses at that time.
“The business support programmes we run are flexible and can be adapted to take account of emerging issues. We have a duty to support local employers and help them to adapt their business practices, so they can survive the current crisis and importantly be in a position to go into growth mode again when this is over.
“I want to stress too that the Business Resilience Programme will be delivered in a way which protects participants as well as those delivering the programme. That will mean using all available technology with businesses being mentored remotely. I hope local businesses will register to take part and do all they can to withstand the impact of coronavirus and plan for a more prosperous future.”
Businesses are eligible to participate if they are is based in the Newry Mourne and Down District Council area and employ less than 50 people.
