John Clark – Obituary
Strangford MP Jim Shannon has passed a memorable tribute to the late John Clark, funeral undertaker in Ards.
Mr Shannon said: ” It is with much sadness that we record the death of John Clarke who has passed away after a long life spend serving his Lord and Saviour. John Clarke is well known in the Ards and Strangford area and Clarkes Funeral Home has been and will continue to be a port in the storm of grief for many people and for that reason many people have been touched by the compassion and help of John and his family.
“John’s demeanour was one of gentleness, soft spoken, a reassuring word when families were grieving and were enveloped in sadness. John gave comfort not only by the streamlined and efficient service that takes the small worries over the service etc away from the grieving families but also with the warmth and sincerity that is so reassuring at that time.
“His character, his genuine warmth and his interest in all who met he had that talent to say the right thing at the right time with well chosen words. Many will sorrow for his passing but John Clarke had a wonderful faith and is without doubt absent from the body and present with the Lord.
“John is in Heaven and this is far better – he served his Lord and Saviour with a dedication and fervour that lives on in the memories of all those who knew him. My warm and sincere sympathies to his family in this time of overwhelming sorrow, we recall John Clark as a great business man, a godly Christian and a good man who in every step of life honoured his God and his family and I know he will have heard “well done good and faithful servant” as he enters in to his reward.”
