Intercultural Saturday Fete in Castlewellan and Intercultural Information Event in St Patrick’s Centre
Running under the BAME Engagement Programme for Newry Mourne and Down District Council and the Down PCSP, there will be inter-cultural events taking place for people in ethnic minorities to participate in Castlewellan and Diownpatrick.
Castlewellan Community Centre will play host to the “Saturday Fete” event which will take place on Saturday 18th June from 11am to 2pm.
The event is aimed at individuals and families from ethnic minority communities as well as locals who are living or working in the Slieve Croob and Rowallane District Electorate areas. The event will be a family fun day as an inter-community event.
There will be crafts for children, intercultural performances in music and dance, with information from a range of agencies and support services.
Intercultural Information Event in St Patrick’s Centre
An Intercultural Information event will take place on Thursday 23rd June from 5pm to 8pm at the St Patricks Centre in Downpatrick. The event is aimed at individuals and families from ethnic minority communities living or working in the greater Downpatrick area.
Some local agencies and support services will be in attendance. All will be available to chat with and offer advice and information on issues which includes family support services. There will also be information on the European Union Settlement Scheme and racism awareness.
This is a drop in style event so if you, or someone you know, could benefit please come along and say hello.
Both events are part of an initiative of Newry Mourne and Down District Council with support from Down Policing and Community Safety Partnership.
Light refreshments will be available at both events.
