CHRIS Hazzard MLA has called for a meeting with Roads Service officials to discuss the options for Edward Street in Downpatrick which is currently still facing traffic flow difficulties outside the Our Lady and St Patrick Primary School.
Recently when Mr Hazzard questioned the Minister for Regional Development on the issue, he was advised that Roads Service have no plans to extend the previously trialled one-way system on a more permanent basis.
The DRD Minister is examaning the difficulties at the site and that Roads Service are exploring options for the area. Mr Hazzard commented:
“I hope to meet with officials very shortly and work with them in securing a permanent fix to the current problems at Edward Street. As part of this process I will be calling for an up-to-date pedestrian and vehicle survey of the area.”
