Infrastructure Minister Chris Hazzard has announced the start of a £65,000 resurfacing scheme on Comber Street in Saintfield.
The 260 metre resurfacing works extend from the Square in Comber Street to the roundabout at Comber Road. Improvements will also be undertaken to some of the adjacent footways and the drainage system will be upgraded. The scheme will start on Monday 1 August and finish on the 27 August 2016.
The Minister said: “This significant investment will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of Comber Street and address ongoing maintenance problems associated with the road.”
A road closure will be in operation generally between 8pm to and 6pm from Monday 1 August 2016 to Saturday 27 August 2016. (The road will be open overnight and on Sundays).
Traffic is being diverted via A21 Main Street, A7 Belfast Road and Comber Road.
The above planned closures are subject to favourable weather conditions and Transport NI will keep the public informed of any change.
Transport NI has carefully programmed the work and traffic management arrangements in order to minimise any inconvenience to the public. However, motorists should be aware that some delays may be expected and that additional time should be allowed when planning any journeys.
