Infrastructure Minister Chris Hazzard has announced that work on a £100,000 resurfacing scheme for Ballywillan Road, Crossgar is now underway.
The scheme will involve the resurfacing of a 1.0 km stretch of the C277 Ballywillan Road from the B6 Manse Road to the Jericho Road junction.
The Minister said: “This £100,000 scheme represents a significant investment in the roads infrastructure in the Crossgar area and will deliver significant improvements to the strength and road surface quality of this stretch of carriageway.
“This will help meet the needs of the local economy and improve transport connections for people, goods and services.”
To facilitate this resurfacing work a temporary road closure is currently in place from 8:00hrs to 17:00hrs until Friday 23 December 2016. The road will be open to traffic over-night and on Sundays.
The Diversion route will be signed with traffic being diverted via Derryboye Road, B7 Killyleagh Road and Ballywillan Road.
Transport NI aims to keep disruptions to a minimum, however, delays should be expected and drivers are asked to be patient and allow additional time when planning journeys in the area whilst the road improvements are being carried out.
The above work is subject to favourable weather conditions and TransportNI will keep the public informed of any change.
