Transform your Future with a Part-time Course at SERC
South Eastern Regional College (SERC) are hosting a series of open days for local people to find out how a part-time course could transform their lives at Newcastle Campus, 29 May 10am – 2pm, Downpatrick Campus, 5 June, 4 – 8pm and Ballynahinch Campus, 6 June 10am – 2pm.
Ken Webb, Principal and Chief Executive of SERC said: “Every year, we hear amazing real-life stories from our students who’s return to education has transformed their lives. The first step is realising that you can do whatever you put your mind to, and we will give you all the support you need here at SERC.
“I encourage you to come along to our open days to find out what is on offer whether you want to restart your education with maths, English and ICT. Or pursue a further education course to get the skills and knowledge necessary to get back into employment, retrain or climb the job ladder.
“And you could gain recognition for your existing skills or acquire new skills and knowledge through a higher education course; or if you want to up-skill on one of our many courses for business and industry with a professionally recognised course. There is something for everyone.
“Visitors will also learn about Restart Education suitable for people who want to re-train or change careers as well as Access Foundation Diploma designed to allow adults out of full-time education (2 years or more) the opportunity to return to study and progress to higher education.
The College also offers study just for fun on a range of leisure hobby courses from digital photography to woodwork, international street food to beginners Irish.
SERC Lecturers and Careers team will be available to talk about programmes and the support mechanisms that SERC offer to help overcome barriers to education that people may face.
