DUP South Down candidate Diane Forsythe calls for Unionist support
Speaking from the hustings in South Down, DUP candidate Diane Forsythe said she was confident in securing a seat in the NI Assembly election.
She said: “Unionists in South Down have united behind me over these past six weeks as we have run a positive campaign to energise the electorate and return the strongest voice for Unionism for South Down in this election. Â
“From DUP Party stalwarts to longstanding members re-engaged to an influx of new members, our team is strong. Widespread supporters have further joined us of all ages and backgrounds with the shared vision of delivering for the Unionists of South Down.Â
“I am strong on the Union. I am a professional, capable and experienced candidate in delivering a firm voice when challenging on important issues, delivering investments and holding public bodies to account. I am committed to supporting fair funding for our local schools and continuing on my track record of fighting for them.Â
“I am a local woman, born and bred in South Down. I live and breathe this area and I want to see it thrive. Northern Ireland is a great place to live, but it can be better with better representatives in place at the NI Assembly. Â
“The DUP have a plan for Northern Ireland… to fix the NHS, grow our economy, help working families, keep our schools world class and remove the NI Protocol. I want you to put your trust in me to deliver this for South Down, and to make this area a better place to live and to raise our children.”
Diane Forsythe added: “I believe in Unionist Unity and have stayed true to this throughout my campaign. I want Unionism to win this election, and I humbly ask that in order to do so you all unite behind me as the strongest Unionist candidate on May 5th with your number 1 vote and transfer to other pro-Union candidates.Â
“I would be honoured to serve you all and deliver for the next generation of Unionism.”
