Darren Murray, the 25-year old former Portadown player who scored 11 goals in 11 games before signing for Cliftonville on a 3 1/2 year contract just over a year ago before a mutual termination last September halted his career is to play for the Point.
Murray will start the 2017/18 season in the blue and white of Warrenpoint with manager Matthew Tipton obviously delighted to have secured the services of the young ace.
Tipton said: “We are delighted to get Darren on board for next season. There were numerous other clubs in for Darren so we are over the moon that he has bought into what we want to achieve as a football club.
“I can’t wait until he pulls on a Warrenpoint shirt next season to show all of the fans what he is capable of.”
Tipton has been on a unbeaten run since taking over the helm at Warrenpoint and is turning his sights towards building a team for the next few years in the clubs attempt to re-establish itself as a top league club.
