Strong sheep entries confirm Castlewellan as the largest one day sheep show in Northern Ireland and the young handlers looks a competitive field. Showing and jumping horse and pony classes have grown with the Agribarn Search for a Star Young Horse Championship a big draw. A lot of interest has been generated in the two day goat event and the pig section.
The Show will play host to a number of prestigious finals including Hampshire Down National Championship as well as the Blonde Calf championship, NISA Final of the Junior Bull Championship and the British Blue Young Bull event
In the home industries and family fun, almost 800 entries have been received and Buzzy Bumble Bee models and scarecrows will be in abundance. The Young Farmers are gearing up for an active programme of tractor driving, tug of war and the traditional water games. With over 400 trade stands and exhibitors, a new fashion marquee and a vintage tea tent there will be lots to see and do on the day.
