Cllr Devlin said: ” What a weekend in Newcastle! This was the 2nd year of Eats and Beats and the event was nothing short of spectacular.
“Amazing food, the best of music and all against the backdrop of the stunning Mourne Mountains.
“The weather absolutely played its part, as it was amazing from the festival opened until it closed with the sun shining.
“I attended both days with my kids and then without and it was just brilliant to see such a variety of ages.
“There were the young and the not so young all enjoying what Newcastle had to offer. It really was our Council at its best.
The Kids Zone was a great addition, as were the lovely volunteers who were engaging with the public.
“A special thanks must go to our cleansing team who ensured that Donard Park was pristine throughout the event despite the several thousands of attendees.
“And a huge thanks and well done to the Council’s Events Team, Shindig Events, The Mourne Larder and all of the acts and vendors that made the Festival such an incredible success.
“On weekends like this, it’s a particular privilege to represent the Mournes.”
