DUP Deputy Leader Gavin Robinson Officially Opens New Satellite Office in Ballynahinch
Strangford MP Jim Shannon is delighted at the opening of his new satellite office in Ballynahinch.
The new premises will greatly improve the reach of Jim Shannon’s advice and advocacy services across the Strangford constituency.
Jim Shannon, who’s main office is in Newtownards, said: “I wish to thank our Deputy Party Leader Gavin Robinson for officially opening the new premises in Ballynahinch.
“I first opened a premises in Ballynahinch when I became MP in 2010.
“It was a promise I had made to be available for people throughout the constituency.
“My Strangford constituency ranges from Portaferry to Ballynahinch which made it very difficult for accessibility for all constituents.
“So I decided to open an office to ensure that everyone in our wide Strangford constituency could reach their MP and avail of our services no matter where they lived.”
Jim Shannon explained that his former office located in the Markethouse complex was closed when the entire floor was rented out and he added: “I am now pleased to have been able to find this accommodation on the Main Street to continue service provision.
“I am pleased to work in tandem with Jonny Jackson, a local DUP councillor for the area along with Michelle McIlveen , a Strangford MLA, and Harry Harvey, South Down MLA to provide all levels of DUP service for the surrounding areas.
“A member of staff will be in place on Monday and Tuesday Mornings, Wednesday and Thursdays and whilst the office may be new, the service is the same reliable provision that has been in place since my election as MP and we look forward to helping in whatever way we can.“
Cllr Jonny Jackson said: “I’m delighted at the announcement of the opening of a new DUP Constituency office today in Ballynahinch alongside Jim Shannon MP for Strangford.
“It was a privilege to have our Deputy Leader of the Party Gavin Robinson MP along and our Strangford MLA Harry Harvey MLA and also Councillor Callum Bowsie who is also on the team.
“Since I was elected last year as your DUP Councillor for the area I have tried to work hard for you the people on a range of different issues trying to improve things locally. And I have lobbied on your behalf on Newry Mourne & Down District Council.
“The opening of this office is a further commitment from me to the people in our constituency on the help and service we try to provide.
