POLICE are appealing for information following a shooting incident in the Church Avenue area of Dundrum during the early hours of this morning, Tuesday 27 August.
Shortly before 2am police received a report that a shot had been fired at the front door of a house in the area. No one was injured during this incident, however, the occupants of the house were left very badly shaken. A motive for the incident is currently being investigated.

Newcastle area Alliance Councillor Patrick Clarke has condemned the shooting incident and said: “Shots were fired at the front door of the house, but the two men who were in the property at the time were not injured.
Councillor Patrick Clarke said: “I am shocked that this shooting took place in a quiet residential area. The people responsible obviously have no regards for the consequences of their actions.
“Somebody could have been seriously injured or worse.
“There is no place for this sort of violence on our streets. The public must help the Police catch whoever is responsible, so I would urge anybody with any information about this shooting to contact the authorities.”
