St Brigid’s Primary School pupil Lauren Madden raced into second place at the recent final of the Flahavan’s Porridge Athletics NI Primary School Cross Country League in the girl’s race.
The League, which is committed to encouraging young people to have an active and healthy lifestyle was launched last year by reigning NI Cross Country Champion Declan Reed and attracts 5,200 young athletes across three rounds.
Following the final the top 20 girls and boys will be invited to join the Flahavan’s Porridge Athletics NI Junior Cross Country Squad.
And Downpatrick girl Lauren Madden has earned her oats and is well positioned now in the squad.
