Club Notes – Week Beginning 25/06/18
* The club held their AGM on Monday night in Murphy’s Bar, we would like to thank all the players, managers, coaches, parents/guardians and club members who attended. We are pleased to announce our committee for the year ahead, Chairman – Paul Moore, Secretary – Thomas Leckey, Treasurer – Tony McShane, Committee Members – Mark Murphy, Michael Bohill, Stephen Sloan and Eugene Milligan. There is still a number of members to be co-opted on to the committee at the next monthly meeting.
* Downpatrick FC are currently inviting expressions of interest for the positions of 1st Team and 2nd Team Managers. Downpatrick FC 1st Team will play in Premier Division of the NAFL next season, the 2nd Team will play in the Premier Division of the NADAFL and are looking for managers with the skills, drive and determination to build on the foundations of the club in 2018/19 season. The closing date for applications is Wednesday 27 June 2018.The ladies travel to Craigavon City Ladies on Friday night as they begin the second half of their league fixtures, this match is at Drumgor Road 3G Pitch in Craigavon and kicks off at 7.30pm.
* The club’s Annual Golf Day will be on Friday 27th July at St Patrick’s Golf Course, Downpatrick. This golf day will be a shot gun start beginning at 3.30pm with the chance to win a car to the value of £10,000 sponsored by KPS Chartered Accountants at the 18th. To play in this event it will cost £15.00 for Members & £25.00 for Non-members, this will include entry into the hole-in-one competition and food afterwards, there will also be cash prizes for a hole-in-one at the other par 3’s, closest to the pin and longest drive competitions. * The under 17’s are holding open trials on Monday night the 2nd July at St Dillon’s Avenue at 7.00pm. All old and new players are welcome, please bring a bottle of water.
* The club will be holding their annual soccer funweek on Monday 13th to Friday 17th August from 6.30pm – 8.00pm in St Dillon’s avenue, more details to follow.
* The coaches recently met to review last season and to make plans for next season, trials and open training sessions will be held at St Dillon’s pitch in July. Details of what age groups, times of training and days will be communicated in the next number of weeks.
