Brigid’s music blends great country blues with folk and a subtle dash of jazz. Her performance will showcase the new material she has produced during her year as recipient of the prestigious Artist Career Enhancement Award from the Arts Council NI, which has facilitated the production of her new release and her March trip to Nashville in association with Panarts.

Brigid has been stopping people in their tracks on both sides of the Atlantic with her new single ‘Don’t Make Me Go to Town’. Co-produced by Michael Mormecha, the song has received significant attention on radio with BBC Radio Ulster presenters Ralph McLean, Cherrie McIlwaine and William Crawley giving it airplay.

The single has also received excellent critical reviews to date with Folk and Tumble: “The lyrics are short, sharp and clever, Brigid’s vocal rising high above the music like jazz queen of old.” BBC’s music aficionado Ralph McClean praised Brigid saying, “Brigid is great songwriter with a voice that breaks your heart at 30 paces. She understands the craft of songwriting intuitively and there’s an honesty and integrity in her work that is very special.”

The single follows on from the release of Brigid’s critically acclaimed EP debut of originals ‘Arrivals and Departures’ which has been described by Cherrie McIlwaine of BBC Radio Ulster as, “a collection of lovingly crafted, beautifully performed original songs.”

Returning from Nashville, Tennessee, earlier this year where she played the iconic Bluebird Cafe, Music City Roots Show to 64 million viewers, Brigid’s songwriting career has been going from strength to strength. She is about to return to Nashville in September where she will be focusing on writing, working with Grammy Award-winning writers.

The new single is available from iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and all digital stores. For more information about Brigid’s forthcoming gigs and news, contact her via her Facebook page Brigid O’Neill Music or her website Brigidoneill.com.
