County Down Swimmer’s Glorious Return Home From Commonwealth Games

This year’s Commonwealth Games sees Northern Ireland bring home more medals than it has in nearly thirty years. The Commonwealth team are bringing an impressive two gold, three silver and seven bronze medals home to Northern Ireland.

Local swimming competitors, Bethany Firth from Seaforde and Curtis Coulter from Newtownards are pictured making their return to Northern Ireland following their inspiring performances in the Commonwealth Games.

The Games are only one highlight of Scotland’s sporting summer and Northern Ireland sports enthusiasts are encouraged to cross the Irish Sea to explore the diverse sporting opportunities available. Scotland is celebrating its Homecoming in 2014 and has wide variety of other key active events including Tour o’ the Borders for keen cyclists, The Return of the Ridings for horse lovers, An Feis Mor, Scotland’s festival of paddle sports and the picturesque Baxters Loch Ness Marathon.
