The Stations consisting of Bangor 107.9FM, Lisburn’s 98FM and FM105 Down Community Radio provide the local community with local voices from both volunteers and experienced presenters to a collective local audience of up to 60,000 listeners.
FM105 Downpatrick Community Radio joined together on Wednesday with their partner stations, Bangor 107.9FM and Lisburn 98FM as they hosted Air Ambulance to raise vital funds across the SERC campuses of Bangor, Lisburn and Downpatrick for this worthwhile charity organisation which can impressively reach any part of Northern Ireland in twenty-five minutes or less.
The air ambulance delivers world class medical care and significantly reducing travel time to bring casualties to hospital.
The Radio Stations with collective listeners of 60,000 a day encouraged people to wear their Santa hats and donate money to this worthy cause to a generous reception which resulted in £115.91 being raised. There were prizes up for grabs on the day which included a whopping £250 holiday voucher courtesy of Bangor Travel, a £100 spa voucher courtesy of Omeya Spa, Bangor and a voucher for two for any Little Wing restaurant.
Community Radio Station Co-Ordinator Colm McAlinden said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to help our communities out across the region in the lead up to Christmas time when some of us may unfortunately require these services.â€
“This event demonstrates how generous and thoughtful people are whether it is our listeners, the students and staff or the public. It is commendable to them, especially at this time of year.â€
FM105 Downpatrick Community, Bangor 107.9 and Lisburn’s 98FM along with Air Ambulance would like to thank everyone who contributed.
