Rostrevor Folk Club at Crawford’s welcomes Zoe Conway and Mick Hanly, two of Ireland’s major folk acts who will be visiting the club this March.
On 6 March the prodigiously talented Irish fiddle player Zoë Conway will be appearing. She has performed across the globe as a solo artist and also playing with international acts such as Riverdance, Damien Rice and Lou Reed.
An All-Ireland Senior Fiddle Champion, Zoë was voted Best Traditional Female of the Year in Irish Music Magazine. Zoë tours with her husband, the acclaimed guitarist John Mc Intyre.
On March 20th, it will be the turn of Irish folk legend Mick Hanly. One of Irish music’s most popular artists, Mick formed Monroe with Michael O’Domhnaill (later of the Bothy Band). He recorded two highly regarded solo albums with Donal Lunny, Andy Irvine and Declan Sinnott. He then toured Ireland and Europe with Irvine, later joining Moving Hearts as a vocalist. Now a solo artist his songs have been covered by artists including Christy Moore and Mary Black.
Tickets are £10 and refreshments are served. Concerts begin at 8pm.
