Car Raffle Launched For Southern Area Hospice

Southern Area Hospice launches annual Car Raffle to raise funds for palliative care services

The Southern Area Hospice has launched its annual Car Raffle – with one lucky winner due to drive off in a brand-new Kia Picanto GT, with one year’s free insurance to the value of £500.

The annual draw, which will take place in November, is one of the Hospice’s biggest fundraising events thanks to the incredible ongoing support from the public and the generous financial contribution this year from sponsor Car+Color Ltd. THE PARTS & PAINT PEOPLE.

The Car Raffle is also kindly supported by Shelbourne Motors and Buttercrane Shopping Centre.

The Hospice, which cares for patients and their families in the Southern Health and Social Care Trust area needs to raise £3.6m this year to continue providing invaluable specialist palliative care services.

Last year, the money raised by the Car Raffle helped to provide specialist palliative care to patients and support for family members.

By participating in this year’s raffle, you can play an important role in delivering the care patients and their families need.

At the Southern Area Hospice car raffle launch were Mary McDonald, Buttercrane Shopping Centre; Gary Connolly Shelbourne Motors KIA; Jenny McLaughlin SAHS Clinical Sister; and Michael McGivern, Car+Color (main sponsor).

Speaking at the Car Raffle launch, James McCaffrey, Fundraising Officer at Southern Area Hospice, said: “On behalf of Southern Area Hospice, I would like to extend our sincere thanks to the team at Car+Color Ltd, as well as Shelbourne Motors and Buttercrane Shopping Centre for their support.”

“The annual Car Raffle is one of our most prominent fundraising campaigns.

“Thanks to the generous support from local companies every ticket bought helps fund Hospice care, making a real difference to the lives of our patients and their families.

“I would encourage everyone to get their entry in, as you will be supporting the Hospice, and you might be the lucky winner of this fabulous Kia Picanto GT in November.”

Michael McGivern from Car+Color Ltd. THE PARTS & PAINT PEOPLE said: “We’re extremely proud to sponsor the Southern Area Hospice Car Raffle this year and are delighted to be able to support the vital contribution they make to our community.

“The raffle raises significant funds to provide care in the Southern Health and Social Care Trust area and we hope you join us in supporting this campaign.”

Ronan Marshall from Shelbourne Motors, who have been supporting the raffle since 2019, added: “At Shelbourne Motors we are delighted to be supporting the Southern Area Hospice Car Raffle campaign again.

“We look forward to inviting the lucky winner to our Newry dealership later this year and handing them the keys to their brand-new Kia.

“We would like to wish everyone the best of luck and encourage support for this campaign, which helps raise vital funds for the Hospice.”

Raffle tickets will be sold daily from a Hospice stand in Buttercrane Shopping Centre in Newry and the Oaks Shopping Centre in Dungannon, as well as other local venues.
