Friday night saw the men play away to Dundrum. With a massive panel the managers had a difficult choice of who to start. With captain Conor McAllister injured he took up the position of keeper and pulled of some fantastic saves to ensure Dundrums attempts at goals failed. Ryan Mageean who started in midfield put Brights first score over the bar in the opening minutes.
The second point for Bright was scored when a well won ball from Conor Doyle found its way to Seamus Tumelty to score a point. John McLeigh who had a solid game popped the ball over the bar with an over head kick. Dundrum had some chances in form of frees but these were all hit wide. It took the opposition 16 minutes before they scored and this was a free. Another free for Dundum gave them there second and last score of the first half. Brights first goal came from a rebound ball of the keeper meaning Conor Doyle was successful in his second attempt. Bright made great use of their chances and the first half ended 1-8 to 0-2.
Dundrum whose majority of points came from frees got the first point of second half. But Bright were not lying down. With excellent team work and passing from Bright throughout the field they were on the attack again. The second half saw a few changes to Bright and BJ McMenamin, Conor Black, Cunliffe Fitzsimmons and Pearse McCarthy were introduced to field. Conor Kelly used his speed and accuracy to ensure there was no come back for Dundrum when he found the back of the net for Brights second goal. This was a fantastic all round display from the men everyone from keeper to full forward line were on full form fighting for every ball and reaping the rewards with a great win. Bright 2-13 Dundrum 0-8. Well done lads!
