Councillor William Dick, Chair of Down District Policing Partnership said, “The local community organisation in Bishopscourt works extremely hard to bring a range of initiatives into the area for local residents, especially the children of the area. It is always good to know that people are prepared to work together and make a positive impact on the appearance of their local area.” PSNI Inspector John McKenna, who also took part in the event added, “A great day of community pride and fun was had by all participating in the clean up today and the PSNI would always encourage residents to work together for their collective area, it helps break down isolation and fear in the community and makes people feel safer in their everyday lives.” Supported by Down District Policing Partnership, Down District Community Safety Partnership and NI Housing Executive, the clean up was followed by a lunch at the Family Centre for all the hard workers and the children participating will also receive funding to have a fun day in the Newcastle YMCA as a further reward.]]>
