Kids can take up the ‘Great Craft and Design Challenge’ at Ards Craft this weekend (Saturday 24 May), when they use the work of professional makers to create their own unique piece of art.
Children will be able to use the hand-crafted range of craft on show, from ceramics and textiles to jewellery, wood and glass, as inspiration, while also using a special ‘Meet the Maker’ workbook to explore techniques and processes employed by makers themselves before creating their own artwork.
The free workshop takes place on Saturday 24 May from 2pm to 3pm in Ards Crafts, 31 Regent Street, Newtownards. The session is suitable for children aged 8 to 11 who must be accompanied by an adult and all materials are provided. For more information contact Ards Crafts on 028 9182 6846, or
