Local residents can apply or renew their dog licence at any time using the fast, easy and convenient online booking service provided by Ards and North Down Borough Council.
Richard Brittain, Head of Building Control, Licensing and Neighbourhood Environment for Ards and North Down Borough Council said that it allows residents to apply for a licence at a time when it suits them. He added: “The online system means that people can apply for a dog licence at any time of the day or night and at weekends or public holidays. The online application facility is particularly convenient for people who work full time and might find contacting the council during normal opening hours difficult.”
Those who would prefer to call into the Council Offices or pay over the telephone by using a debit or credit card can still do so. Opening times at the Council Offices at The Town Hall, Bangor Castle or Church Street, Newtownards are Monday – Thursday, 9.00am – 5.00pm and Friday 9.00am – 4.30pm.
The service can be accessed via the Council’s website:
The penalty for not having a current licence for your dog is £80. Anyone who would like further information should telephone the Neighbourhood Environment Team on 0300 013 3333.
