Seafish, the public body that supports the £10bn UK seafood industry, is delighted to welcome a new member to its regional team.
Dr Annika Clements has joined the Seafish team as Regional Manager for Northern Ireland. She takes over from Dr Lynn Gilmore, who moved into a new role as Head of International Trade and Regions.
Annika has worked closely with the fishing industry in Northern Ireland having previously worked for the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute, Northern Ireland Environmental Link, Ulster University, and Queens University Belfast, as well as a self-employed environmental consultant. She has been a member of the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) Working Group on Nephrops Surveys and Working Group on Marine Habitat Mapping for the past four years. In her new role she will focus on liaising with local stakeholders to support and promote a thriving seafood industry.
On taking up the new post Annika said: “I’m looking forward to getting to know our local industry and continuing the great work Lynn developed, as well as creating new collaborative projects that support the industry across the supply chain in Northern Ireland.”
