Brown And Mathison Welcome Harry’s New Location In Ballynahinch
Alliance MLA’s Patrick Brown (South Down) and Nick Mathison (Strangford) have welcomed Harry’s Place’s new location at the Market House in Ballynahinch.
The group secured the lease from Newry Mourne and Down District Council in the summer and began the opening of their new home with a showing of a documentary detailing their work and impact in the community.
Harry’s Place is a popular cafe in Ballynahinch that works with adults with learning disabilities and autism.
They provide adults with employability and social skills as well as building friendships, a feeling of acceptance and inclusion in the community.
The move to the Market House in Ballynahinch is prompted by the immense growth and demand for the services that Harry’s provides.
Harry’s are hopeful for the new space to create a state-of-the-art training kitchen and cafe as well as having more space to host social events and more for all participants.
Patrick Brown said: “I am delighted to see Harry’s settle into their new home in Ballynahinch.
“I have worked alongside David and Gareth from my time as a councillor and they have always been so committed to providing a space of acceptance and inclusion.
“I look forward to how the group will grow in their new space in the Market House and I wish them the very best for the future.”
Nick Mathison added: “I am thrilled to see the growth of Harry’s Place in Ballynahinch.
“They are just a fantastic group to work with and their new documentary detailed brilliantly the work they do.
“I look forward to stopping by soon for some lunch from a brilliant team of workers.”
