Sinn Féin Select Downpatrick Council Candidates.
Sinn Féin have announced their team to contest the upcoming local government election in the Downpatrick DEA which is set to take place in May.
With the party confident of winning an additional seat in Downpatrick, they have selected two candidates with a mix of youth, energy and a determination to deliver for their local area.
“As local residents who are embedded in their local community, they both have a passion for delivering real, sustainable change in Downpatrick.
“Downpatrick needs a strong team of Councillors who stand up for local families and who can deliver for our local community. In Oonagh and Jordan I am confident the people of Downpatrick will be well served.
Sinn Féin Vice President Michelle O’Neill added: “In congratulating both Oonagh and Jordan on their selection, I want also to remember the hard work and dedication of Naomi Bailie who will not be standing for the party in May’s election. Naomi has been an extremely hard working councillor and a first class Sinn Féin representative in recent years and on behalf of everybody in the party I want to wish her, and her family all the very best for the future.” Noami Bailie suffered an attack of meningitis mid-term in her period as a Downpatrick council and recovered well.
