Ards Policing and Safety Community Partnership (PCSP) is offering funding of nearly £70,000 to local groups and individuals towards community safety projects.
The PCSP is inviting groups and individuals to apply for financial assistance for projects that would help to make Ards safer by reducing the levels of anti-social behaviour, providing early interventions to divert young people from coming into contact with the justice system, reducing the number of burglaries and the fear of burglary, or reducing the number of violent crimes where alcohol or drugs is a contributory factor, in local communities.
Chair of Ards PCSP, Councillor Alan McDowell, is encouraging individuals and groups to apply for the funding. He said: “This is the third year the PCSP has offered grants for community safety projects, with the outcomes of initiatives funded in the past having been very positive.
“I would encourage all groups and individuals in the Ards area who have an innovative idea for a community safety project to consider applying for a grant, and being part of the solution to making their communities safer, and therefore happier places to live”.
