The superb Northern Ireland Opera are set to perform at this year’s Anne Iveston Choral evening in the Queen’s Hall, Newtownards, on Saturday 14 March 2015.
Featuring members of their Young Artists’ Programme, this magical evening of music will include scenes and arias from Mozart’s most popular operas including The Magic Flute, Così fan tutte and The Marriage of Figaro.
Emily Crawford, Arts Officer with Ards Borough Council, looking forward to the show, said: “Northern Ireland Opera delighted audiences with their sell out tour of Mozart’s The Magic Flute in September 2014 and we are delighted that they have chosen to bring ‘The Magic of Mozart’ to Newtownards this spring.
“This is a unique opportunity to experience professional live opera, at an affordable price, featuring some of the Province’s brightest young stars. The music of Mozart has a broad appeal and is accessible for both life-long lovers of Opera, and those that might want to try the genre for the first time”.
The artists participating in this enchanting evening of music are sopranos Andrea Delaney and Maria McGrann, Mezzo-soprano, Helen Aiken and tenor Conor Breen, accompanied on the Baby Grand piano by pianist, Donal McCrisken.
The concert is Ards Arts Committee’s annual tribute to Anne Iveston, a committed supporter of the arts, who was a long-serving member of the Committee as well as of Ards Choral Society.
The Magic of Mozart will take place in The Queen’s Hall, Newtownards, on Saturday 14 March at 8pm.
