Summer Nights At Newcastle Summer Season 2017

Summer Nights at Newcastle offers a variety of live theatre events and music performances every Friday and Saturday night throughout July and August at Newcastle Community Cinema.

Opening the season of theatre on Friday 7 and Saturday 8 July is the popular Belvoir Players with ‘Stop it Nurse!’ a hilarious Ulster comedy by Sam Cree.

The Illegals will be in action in Newcastle this summer.

South Bank Playhouse make a welcome return on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 July with Alan Ayckbourn’s critically acclaimed comedy ‘Neighbourhood Watch’.

Hot on its heels on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 August is an uproariously funny spoof murder mystery, ‘Secondary Cause of Death’ by Bart Players.

Making their summer season debut on Friday 18 August is Blaris Players with their production of ‘Shady Pines’, a comedy about the residents of Shady Pines Residential Home.

Newcastle Glees Musical Society kick off a summer full of music on Friday 14 July with Summer Song from Broadway & Beyond featuring fabulous music and songs from musicals such as ‘9 to 5’, The Lion King,  Les Miserables and much more.

On Saturday 15 July, The Iconette’s, backed by their band The Hitzvilles will pay tribute to the famous artists of Mowtown and Soul’s golden era of the 60’s and 70’s.

Taking to the stage for two nights on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 July is The Elvis Spectacular show fronted by Ciaran Houlihan and featuring a live eight piece band with the Sweet Sensations.

The Illegals with Niamh Kavanagh makes their annual appearance on Friday 4 August cooking up a storm in an entertaining three hours of vocal harmony and superb musicianship.

Celebrating 25 years of the magic of Queen is Flash Harry on Saturday 19 August who will have you singing along to some of the greatest songs ever written.

Blues guitar legend, Ronnie Greer and his powerhouse band make a welcome return to Newcastle on Friday 25 August for what promises to be a great night of blues, roots and a little jazz.

Bringing Summer Nights to a close is Bjorn Identity who exceed all expectations of ABBA tribute bands from their stunning replica costumes, vocal likeness and ABBA style choreography.

Evening performances will take place in Newcastle Community Cinema and start at 8pm with bar facilities from 7pm.
