Congratulations to Patrick Keenan who was named East Down Juvenile Referee of the Year at the recent East Down GAA awards night writes Eugene O’Boyle.
The club held its annual Senior Presentation night in the clubrooms on Saturday night. The winners on the night were as follows:
Senior Player’s Player of the Year – Cathal O’Connor
Senior Manager’s Player of the Year – Marty Keenan & Cathal O’Connor
Senior Sportsman – Darren Morgan
Reserve Player of the Year – Aidan Kelly
Reserve Sportsman of the Year – Joe Milligan
Henry O’Hare Memorial Volunteer Trophy – Gerard Magorrian
Clubperson of the Year – Kevin McGlynn
Special mention was also given to Patrick Keenan on his East Down Juvenile Referee of the Year award, the Masters squad which won silverware at recent tournaments and Michelle Morgan, Grainne McCann and Siobhan McCann who won Down Ladies Junior Championship medals with Loughinisland.
The Juvenile presentation will be held in the clubrooms on Sunday 30 November at 5.00pm. All are welcome to attend.
Core indoor training starts on Friday 28 November from 6.20pm to 7.30pm for Under-14-s, Under-16’s and Minors. Cost is £1.00 per session and remember to bring your own water bottle. For more details contact Gerard Magorrian on 07763323271.
The Under-6’s and Under-8’s have continued on from the successful football/training season with a Tuesday night club in the clubrooms for those wishing to take part. Activities include basic football techniques, matches, obstacle courses, rounders, basketball and other fun activities. This is now being held on Tuesday nights from 6.30-7.30pm and the cost is £1.00 per child. Contact Mandy on 07950 999 429 or Breanda on 07730 676 296.
Lotto numbers were 6, 12, 14 and 27. Ryan & Louise McCann and James Kelly were £10 winners. The jackpot next week is now £4,400.
