The burglaries occurred throughout the course of Sunday, 29th December and are being treated as potentially linked.
Detective Sergeant Johnston said: “Police received a report at approximately 6.40pm that a property had been entered in the Mourneview Park area of Kilkeel.
“Entry is understood to have been gained via the rear of the house that had been rummaged through. Enquiries are continuing to determine what, if anything, has been stolen.
“At approximately 7.25pm police also received a report that two men dressed in dark clothing had entered a home in the Newtown Villas area of Rostrevor.
