DOWN District Community Safety Partnership have teamed up with Grassroots football to run an additional soccer fun week in Ardglass as part of their ongoing anti social behaviour Action Plan in the village. The week will commence on Monday 18th– Friday 22nd July and operate from 11am – 1pm each day. Young people who wish to be involved in this week should meet up at the Meadows playing fields each morning where they will be met by coaches from the local football club and Grassroots football. Children participating in the programme will learn a variety of skills in a fun, safe and positive environment and learn so much more in developing skills to better the community. The programme is open to boys and girls aged between 6 and 14 years and there is no charge for the week, just turn up and have fun. Councillor Mickey Coogan, Chairperson of the Community Safety Partnership said, “We have worked with all age groups in the Ardglass area, in reducing anti social behaviour, including this programme for the 6–14 age group. It is important to engage with this age group providing diversionary programmes and educating them on their responsibilities within their local community. We hope they will fully engage in the programme and young people can become the future in Ardglass.”]]>
