SDLP candidate in the upcoming May election for South Down, Seán Rogers MLA, has secured road safety improvements in the vicinity of An Riocht GAC.
Mr Rogers said: “Back in January I met with senior officials from Transport NI and raised many issues – one of these was the need for road safety improvements along the busy Dunaval Road.
“Following my meeting and additional written representations, I am delighted that Transport NI has now ordered ‘Pedestrian on Road‘ warning signs for this location.
“Transport NI hope to install these adjacent to existing SLOW markings. It is envisaged that this work will be carried out within the next 4-6 weeks.
“I wish to welcome this commitment and look forward to seeing the improvements on site. This club is so well used by young and old, and many reach the club on foot. I had been contacted by a number of users who were concerned about high speeds along this route, ” said Mr Rogers.
