The Department for Infrastructure (DfI) is pleased to confirm that essential health and safety works at Portaferry and Strangford slipways are almost complete.

Both slipway surfaces were refurbished and the steel ferry ramp guide rails in Portaferry were replaced during the five-week construction programme, costing an estimated £300,000.

DfI would like to thank everyone who made the alternative measures for passengers during this period possible and appreciate the patience of customers during the suspension.

The Department would also like to thank the contractors who carried out the work.
