Senior Men’s Reserve fixture away to Liatroim this week. Time to be confirmed

Mixed results from the Ulster Juvenile Handball games held on Sunday at various locations across Belfast. U-13 Doubles partners Fergal McManus and Tom McNeill progressed to the Ulster finals next Sunday in Kingscourt where they join girls U-14 pair Eilis Murphy and Cara McKervey in their quest for provincial glory. Rachel McKeown still has her semi-final in the U-15 division to play this week.

Unfortunately Ryan Sterrit and Tim Prenter were beaten in a semi-final tie break in U-16 grade whist Phillip Doran and Rhys Cunningham also fell just short at the U-15 semi-final. In the singles Tom Savage just lost out to a very strong Cavan player in the U-14’s nd Sean Murphy similarly lost at U-12 at this stage.

All systems go now for Strictly at RGU. The semi-finals are on 12th and 19th March, and the final will be held on Saturday 2nd April. The effort being put in by the contestants is way beyond what would have been anticipated. The club has been alive to “the Sound of Music” and all sorts of moves, shakes and steps every night of the week recently as the couples really are pushing the boat out.
The line up is as follows:

Semi Final 1 is Paddy Rice and Kyla Trainor, Kevin Polly & Katie Quinn, Ross Kearney and Fiona Barnes, Anthony “ Snake Hips “Doherty & Priscilla McAlinden, Ciaran McKee & Lindsey Curran and Stevie Dowd and Kirsty Carling.

Semi Final 2 is Ciaran Branagan and Jenny Fitzsomons, Tosh McCrissican & Theresa Leavy, Aidy McNeill & Cathy Fryer, Paul McCartan & Judith Louden, and Ryan McKay and Mary Kearney.

Ticketing arrangements will be announced next Sunday. We would ask all club members to sponsor the guys in what is our major fund raiser for 2016.

Membership is due now. Edel and Jenny will be in the club on Sunday from 7.30pm to facilitate payment which can be made by card if necessary at the club.

We have had a request for information about a “Currams “ Team from RGU which was active in early 80’s. Anyone with information could they please post on our Facebook page under the picture.
